Laura was the first Bride-to-be to take part in our creative workshop, we are super excited to be running Handmade Hen Party sessions at MAKE in sunny Plymouth! In this half a day workshop Abi will teach you simple (but no less awesome) techniques for creating quirky portraits using drawing, collage and hand lettering. If you are looking for a fun way to celebrate with your girls (or guys!) then read on...
So here's what you'll get up to - Hens will join together to make the pages of an illustrated portrait book for the bride, each page becoming a handmade likeness of everyone at the celebration. After the party Abi will use copies of your illustrations to make a handcrafted book and send it to the Bride-to-be as a keepsake of the day!
This party is suitable for everyone from absolute drawing novices to crafting masterminds and as part of the Hen Do MAKE at 140 provide a super tasty high tea, with gluten free and vegan options.
(At Laura's party we had a selection of delicious treats, I dare you to resist the Almond Chocolate Brownie!) Although the cafe does not have a license to serve cocktails feel free to bring along some bubbly - it's a party after all!
Laura chose to make her portrait out of the same fabric she used to sew her favourite dress! How cool is that? If you have any material that holds a special memory then bring it along!
