Lucy & Ben - Cypriot olive branches & a bicycle made for two...

dearly beloved wedding invitation tandem bike olive branch

We are so lucky to have another sibling tie the knot this spring! Ben (of Dearly Beloved)'s twin sister Lucy is all set to marry her fiancé, also called Ben (confusing, right?), in Cyprus this April. We could not be more excited to celebrate with them in just one month's time!

The Aslett family previously spent many years living in Cyprus and so it was the perfect choice for Lucy and Ben's celebration. For their greetings card style wedding invitation they chose tandem bicycle illustration as a nod to one of their favourite past times (Ben is a triathlete) and asked us to combine this with the iconic Cypriot olive branch.

...But their custom design wouldn't be complete without a cameo appearance from their lovely pooch Ruby.

We are SO looking forward to seeing Lucy & Ben say their wedding vows!

WE ARE TWO!

Happy birthday to us!

We are thrilled to be celebrating the end of our 2nd year in business this January. We are so grateful for support from some amazing couples, clients, judges, photographers, bloggers, magazines and fellow creatives. This 2nd year has definitely been a challenge but it has been an absolute blinder!

We can't wait to get work on more unique designs for future brides and grooms in 2017 - Onwards and upwards!

We WON! Wedding Styling Product of the Year 2016 - Vintage Movie Wedding Stationery

Last month we were absolutely OVER THE MOON to be awarded a notonthehighstreet.com Make Award for our Vintage Movie wedding stationery. Judged by the top minds at notonthehighstreet.comElle Decoration and Telegraph Connect our design was selected as the Wedding Styling Product of the Year for 2016. We donned our gladrags and headed to the beautiful Sky Garden for the award ceremony!

Sally Bendelow, NOTHS Creative Product Director and one of the judges of the Make Awards chose our design because of the fresh colour scheme and the ability to personalise the invitaions for both same sex and straight couples alike. Here's what she had to say...

"The Vintage Movie Collection of wedding stationery by Dearly Beloved was recognised by the notonthehighstreet.com Make Awards judges for its contemporary look and feel whilst still capturing the classical romance element all couples-to-be are after. We liked that the collection included save the date, RSVP and table cards as well, making it easy for couples as it satisfies all their stationery requirements at once. In particular, the judges were delighted to see on-trend colours being used (rather than cream and gold for example) and commented on its versatility as it is suited to every season and as there is also the opportunity to tailor it to same-sex couples."

Thanks so much for the recognition notonthehighstreet.com !

When Emma from Best Day Ever was on the look out for creative suppliers to help out with an alternative styled shoot we jumped at the chance to get involved. Influenced by her love of rich Eastern fabrics and colour this look has all the glamour of a traditional Indian wedding but with a laid back modern twist.

We looked to everything from indian mandalas, jewelled sarees and moroccan henna to design this fresh suite of stationery. And for that extra special touch we collaborated with the talented folk over at The Foil Invite Co. who added the delicate gold foiling.

Claire & Ollie: Vintage English Riviera

It's amazing to see the bespoke wedding invitations we created for South West couple Claire & Ollie in print! We first met Claire at a vintage inspired craft fair where she picked up one of Abi's illustrations; fast forward a couple of years and we are so happy to still in be touch and working with the couple to help make their big day special!

We illustrated not one but two wedding invitations featuring a daytime scene for guests attending the full wedding, and the same portrait of the couple, only this time at dusk, for their evening reception guests; both with names in hand painted lettering.

Claire and Ollie are pulling out all the stops with a personal celebration in their home town of Torquay. Inspired by the British seaside, classic fashion of the 1950s and colourful, retro railway posters, we are working on a suite of stationery including Save the Date post cards, invitations, wedding day signage... and... well... you'll just have to stay tuned to find out the rest!

Tropical Destination Celebration

It has been pretty hectic here in the studio and we have some super exciting work in the pipeline for you! This is a preview of just one of the projects we will be revealing very soon so make sure you keep an eye here on our blog!

Your wedding invitations are the perfect way to give your guests a snapshot into what you have planned for your wedding day. For this tropical collection of stationery we wanted to create elegant yet modern prints and we think they would be great for a wedding celebration abroad.

Every time we get to work on new designs we can't help but imagine what the actual wedding day could look like too! For these we imagine plenty of succulents, gold styling and a good old BBQ on the beach. Check out our Pinterest board for more inspiration!
